Taranaki Anniversary Day opening hours
The council offices at the Civic Centre on Liardet Street New Plymouth will be closed on Taranaki Anniversary Day Monday 10 March 2025.
To report anything that needs an urgent response please phone 06 759 6060 (our Contact Centre Team is available 24 hours/seven days), for all non-urgent matters please email enquiries@npdc.govt.nz and these will be actioned during normal business hours.

Normal household rubbish collection days apply (per all public holidays). All bins need to be at the kerbside by 7am (or 6am for New Plymouth one-way system, Lynmouth area and streets near Taranaki Base Hospital).
The New Plymouth Transfer Station is open daily 8am-4.30pm. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day. All other transfer stations are closed on public holidays.
The Junction shop, drop-off and recycling bins will be closed on Taranaki Anniversary Day.
The Sorting Depot is closed on public holidays.

Taranaki Anniversary Day opening hours are 7am to 6:45pm. Please note that our regular programmes (learn to swim, aquarobics, 50s Forward) do not run on public holidays.
The Waitara, Inglewood and Ōkato community pools are open for the summer season.
