Waitara Stormwater Programme

This programme of works addresses stormwater issues in Waitara, including flooding, degraded health of the waterways and lack of guidance for sustainable development. Status: Live

NPDC is partnering with ngā hapū o Waitara (including Manukorihi, Otaraua, Pukerangiora, Ngāti Rāhiri), and Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa to create a programme of works for the Long Term Plan cycle 2021-2031. Share your stories – Waitara stormwater catchment management plan consultation

NPDC is working alongside mana whenua and Waitara residents and businesses to reduce the likelihood of flooding in the town and the effects of stormwater on the environment. Your knowledge of your town and how heavy rainfall impacts your neighbourhood is invaluable. We want to hear from Waitara residents and businesses about your experiences with flooding and stormwater issues over the years.
