REQUEST FOR TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - TARANAKI TARMAC RALLY

Taranaki Car Club has requested the closure of the following roads to conduct the Taranaki Tarmac Rally.

Date of closure: Saturday 12 July.

Roads to be closed:

  • From 6am to 10.30am: Plymouth Road from the intersection with Kirihau Road to Upper Pitone Road to SH45 intersection.
  • From 6am to 11am: Dover Road from SH45 to Carrington Road, to Oxford Road up to the Saunders Road intersection.
  • From 7am to noon: Carthew Street from SH45 to Curtis Street to the intersection with Oxford Road.
  • From 9am to 3pm: Okoki Road from SH3 to end of the tarmac on Kaka Road, including Okoki Road Extension and Kohangamoa Road.
  • From 9am to 3pm: Kaka Road from end of the tarmac to Uruti Road to the intersection with SH3. Includes Putt and Ri roads and the intersection with Moki Road.
  • From 1pm to 5.30pm: Clarke Road from the intersection with Everett Road to Lincoln Road, to Richmond Road up to the Wortley Road intersection. Includes Barry, Ackworth, Cross and Elsham roads.

The application is being considered under the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965. Submissions to the closures should reach New Plymouth District Council by 4pm on 23 April.

Submissions must be made on the road closure form, which is available online at npdc.govt.nz/HaveYourSay, or by contacting the Council on 06-759 6060 or enquiries@npdc.govt.nz.

Emergency vehicles will have unrestricted access at all times.

During the proposed period of closure, an approved traffic management plan will provide for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the roads.
