Glass collections on hold next week due to driver illness

Lifestyle Local News Public Notice Our Work
PUBLISHED: 3 JUN 2023

Kerbside glass collections across New Plymouth district will be suspended next week with large numbers of our contractor’s staff out with Covid.

Waste Management has so many staff isolating, it does not have enough drivers available at short notice to carry out the kerbside pick-up.

With so many staff isolating it means the contractors do not have enough drivers available to carry out the kerbside pick-up.

If your glass collection is due next week (Monday, 6 June – Friday, 9 June), please do not put your blue crate out and wait for your next scheduled pick-up date.  For the safety of collectyors, please don’t glass in any other bins.

If your crate is full, take your glass to any NPDC transfer station. Alternatively take to the recycling pods at The Junction on Colson Road, for free.

At this stage the glass collection is suspended for next week. Kerbside recycling, food scrap and refuse collection will continue as scheduled.

Download the NPDC Recycling and Rubbish app to get up to date service alerts or keep an eye on our  website for updates.
