NPDC is extending its kerbside collection of mixed recyclables, glass and rubbish collection to businesses, clubs, schools and other community groups that generate a similar volume of recycling, glass and waste as a residential household (suitable for our standard kerbside bins).
The service requires businesses and groups to opt-in. A start date is not yet confirmed but you can register your interest by filling out the application form now.
Businesses and groups that generate larger volumes of recycling and waste will need to organise a collection with a private waste management business.
New Plymouth CBD, from Queen street to Gover St, collection day is Wednesday. The collection for all other businesses and community groups will be the same day as the residential collection for their area.

Businesses, clubs, schools, marae, churches and other community groups that produce about the same volume of waste and recyclables as a residential household, and that are either in New Plymouth’s CBD or an existing collection area.
There is an annual charge of $305, which will be invoiced annually. There is no refund or reduction for a part year.

No. As with the residential collection, businesses and community groups will receive one bin for each of these.
You will need to make alternative arrangements for disposing of these materials. NPDC’s kerbside collection can take only those materials that fit safely within the provided bins and crates.
The bins and crate must be stored in a secure area off the street.
Businesses and community groups who have signed up for NPDC’s kerbside collection can opt-out later on, if they wish.
