Parking tickets

Parking tickets should be paid within 28 days from the date the ticket was issued.

If you wish to dispute your ticket, please fill in the form below and return it to the NPDC Civic Centre or any of our Service Centres, or email through to enquiries@npdc.govt.nz

Infringement fee increases from 1 October 2024

The Government has set new nationwide fees for parking infringements and towage. Please click here to see the increases.

In addition to the above, the fines for the following infringements have also increased:

  • Failed to activate a parking meter: $70.
  • Parked over a line in a metered space: $70.
  • Parked in area restricted to motorcycles: $70.
  • Parked at an expired meter:
    - Not more than 30 minutes: $20.
    - More than 30 minutes but not more than one hour: $25.
    - More than one hour but not more than two hours: $36.
    - More than two hours but not more than four hours: $51.
    - More than four hours but not more than six hours: $71.
    - More than six hours: $97.
