Bear

  • Male

  • Approximately 9 months old
  • Bear is a gentle soul with a heart of gold who is looking for a very special home. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is submissive, playful and happy to make canine friends.
  • Meeting new people, Bear is extremely shy and fearful. He takes a long time to build trust, but throughout it all he remains incredibly sweet and kind. Bear had a difficult start to life, and needs a patient, understanding owner who is willing to let him progress at his own pace and show him that the world isn't such a scary place.
  • Once Bear learns to trust you, you'll be rewarded with a loyal companion who simply wants to feel safe and loved. A home with another confident, friendly dog would be a huge benefit, helping Bear gain confidence and showing him the ropes.
  • Bear isn't looking for perfection, just someone dedicated enough to give him the time, patience, and reassurance he deserves. If you have a calm home, a big heart, and are willing to help a deserving dog blossom, Bear could be the perfect addition to your family.

Odi

  • Odi is a sweet, loving boy with plenty of energy to burn. He's looking for a dedicated owner who can provide ongoing training, regular exercise, and plenty of mental enrichment to keep his busy mind engaged. If you're after an active companion to join you on adventures, Odi could be the perfect fit.
  • This handsome Huntaway thrives when he has something to do and can become bored if he's not given enough stimulation. He'll do best in a home that understands his needs and is committed to helping him reach his full potential.
  • Despite his energetic nature, Odi is surprisingly quiet for a Huntaway and loves spending time with his people. With the right guidance, structure and activity, Odi will make a loyal and affectionate companion.
  • Odi is good with cats but we are unsure how he is with stock.

Cash

  • Male
  • Crossbreed
  • Approximately 5 months old
  • Cash is a sweet, friendly young pup who is looking for a loving home to help him grow into a confident adult dog. He can be a little shy at first, but his playful nature soon shines through. He absolutely loves other dogs and is very sociable, making him well suited to a home with another friendly canine companion.
  • As a puppy, Cash will need an owner who is committed to ongoing training, socialisation and helping him build confidence. With patience and positive guidance, he's sure to blossom.

  • Chance is expected to grow into a medium to large-sized dog, so he'll be looking for a home that's ready to invest the time and effort into raising a well-mannered adult companion. Like all puppies, he is still learning about the world and will need a family committed to guiding him through puppyhood with patience, consistency, and positive training.

How to adopt

Adoption costs:

  • Dogs under eight years old: $311
  • Dogs over eight years old: $152

This fee includes desexing, registration and microchipping.

To enquire please ring New Plymouth District Council on 06-759 6060 and ask for Animal Control. An adoption form will need to be completed to assess eligibility and suitability of new owners.
