Over the Christmas/New Year holiday season, some of our facilities will be closed or have reduced hours.

Please note that the period from Saturday 20 December 2025 to Saturday 10 January 2026 (inclusive) is non-working days. This may affect the processing time for consent applications. Normal processing resumes Sunday 11 January 2026.

Processing Time
Building consent authorities must process your consent within 20 working days from the date your application is accepted. If your application is incomplete or we need extra information, this timeframe will pause until we receive the additional details.

Do I need a building consent?Most consents are processed within 20 working days from acceptance. If we need extra details or your application is incomplete, the timeframe depends on how quickly we receive the information. Yes. You'll get an email to set up your account. Once logged in, you can track progress, edit details, and manage the application if you have full permissions. If not, contact the agent who submitted it. You'll also receive email updates and payment options when consent is granted.
The cost of the consent depends on the type of application, the cost of the work involved, and the level of detail required. View the current fees and charges.
After your application is accepted, you'll get payment instructions. The invoice is in your portal. Pay online, via internet/phone banking, or in person at NPDC Civic Centre or service centres.
