No major changes as NPDC Mayor and Councillor updated election result comes in

Updated (preliminary) results released this afternoon for the New Plymouth District Council’s governance team have not altered those provisionally elected yesterday (8 October). The results are as follows:

  • Mayor - Neil Holdom (13,483 votes). Followed by Murray Chong (5705) and Dinnie Moeahu (5450)
  • Te Waka McLeod in the Te Purutanga Mauri Pūmanawa Māori ward​​​​
  • Murray Chong, Gordon Brown, David Bublitz Bali Haque, Bryan Vickery and Anneka Carlson in the Kaitake-Ngāmotu General Ward
  • Tony Bedford in the North General Ward
  • Dinnie Moeahu, Harry Duynhoven, Sam Bennett, Max Brough and Amanda Clinton-Gohdes as New Plymouth district councillors at large. 

The final result will be announced on Thursday afternoon and will include Special Votes.

As the only candidate for the Kōhanga Moa General Ward, Marie Pearce has been elected unopposed, as was the Clifton Community Board with just four candidates for four positions.
