Work to repair a water pipe in Inglewood has stirred up sediment, causing some residents in Inglewood to experience discoloured water.

A water tanker was sent to the railway yard opposite New World from 7pm, and it will be in place until tomorrow morning - please bring your own containers to fill.

We apologise for any inconvenience this is causing people. If discoloured water is still coming out of your tap tomorrow morning, please contact NPDC on enquiries@npdc.govt.nz or 06-759 6060.

Inglewood’s water is treated before it leaves the plant. But as a precaution we suggest you don't drink discoloured water until it is clear.

We are investing $248m over 10 years to fix the district’s plumbing.
