NPDC and TRC are working together on our Towards Predator Free Taranaki project. We have more than 100 volunteers checking about 1,500 traps on 2,000ha of New Plymouth District's parks and reserves.
If you like getting out into nature, going off the beaten track or have a passion for conservation, then our project might suit you!
Our volunteers are given a section or whole trap-line to check on a fortnightly basis. We use several different traps including the DOC200, Victor and T-Rex rat traps.
NPDC provides you with the tools and bait that you need to check and reset the traps as well as ongoing support.
