Squiggles

  • Female
  • Crossbreed
  • 11kgs
  • 4 to 5 months old
  • Squiggles is a typical playful young pup, she is socialising well with her pound friends.
  • She will need lots of attention, training, and exercise.
  • She has been around cats and finds them a bit scary. We don’t know what she is like with stock.

Blue

  • Male
  • Staffy Mastiff Cross
  • Approximately 20kgs
  • 8 to 9 months old

Blue is relaxed and quiet. He gets on well with other dogs but prefers people company. Blue needs more training, but with his calm demeanour he is very easy to have around. If you want a big cuddler this is your guy. He will need exercise, and we don’t know what he is like with cats or stock.

Bo

  • Male
  • Staffy cross
  • 15 kgs
  • 7 to 8 months old
  • Bo is a sweet playful boy, he is getting used to playing with other dogs, and learning what fun dog play can be. Bo will need training and exercise, and he’s a great age to get started. He loves attention and cuddles. We don’t know what Bo is like with cats and stock.

Lexi

  • Female
  • Border Collie / Staffy / Lab Cross
  • 15 kgs
  • 6 months old
  • Lexi is shy at first, but when she warms up, she loves to play. Lexi will need training and exercise. She gets on well with dogs and people, but we don’t know what she is like with cats and stock.

Lizzy

  • Female
  • Border Collie / Staffy / Lab cross.
  • 15 kgs
  • 6 months
  • Lizzy is calmer than her sister Lexi, also shy when you first meet her. Lizzy gets on well with other dogs but prefers her favourite humans. Lizzy also needs training and exercise; we don’t know how she goes with cats or stock. Lizzy is a super sweet cuddly girl waiting for her forever home.

Louie

  • Male
  • Staffy cross
  • 23 kgs
  • Approximately 10 months old
  • Louie came to us as quite a skinny boy, he still needs more fattening up. Despite his condition he has been very trusting and playful with the other dogs. Louie will need more training and lots of exercise. We don’t know what he is like with cats or stock.

Moose

  • Male
  • Great Dane x
  • 35 kgs
  • Approximately 9 to 10 months old
  • Moose is a big pup, he just wants and needs that forever home to give him training, exercise, love, and attention. Moose gets on well with the other dogs and loves people.  As a 35kg pup you need to prepare for him to grow quite big. We don’t know what he will be like with cats or stock.

Paddy

  • Female
  • Border Collie x Staffy.
  • 33 Kgs, she’s overweight.
  • 4 years old
  • Paddy is a beautiful girl; she has some basic training. Although she tolerates other dogs, she prefers the company of humans. Paddy will need exercise and will thrive with love and attention; she loves her food, obviously.  We are not sure what she is like with cats or stock.

Rocky

  • Male
  • Staffordshire Bull Terrier
  • 8 ½ years old
  • 19 kgs
  • Rocky is looking for somebody to give him a comfy home in his later years. He’s very easy going, loves cuddles and a warm bed. Rocky gets on well with other dogs but would prefer to hang out with people. Although he’s older, he will still enjoy a daily walk. We are unsure what he is like with cats or stock.

Tommy

  • Male
  • Huntaway x Header
  • 30kgs
  • Approximately 2 years old
  • Tommy is a beautiful calm boy, he has some training, walks well, sits and lies down. Tommy gets on well with other dogs, he will need exercise daily. We don’t know how Tommy goes with cats or stock.

How to adopt

Adoption cost: $283 which includes desexing, registration and microchipping.

To enquire please ring New Plymouth District Council on 06 759 6060 and ask for Animal Control. An adoption form will need to be completed to assess eligibility and suitability of new owners.
